Where does the money for scholarships come from?

Most of the money for scholarships comes from the earnings on the Foundation's endowment, which is made up of memorial funds and special funds. We also raise money through our Annual Financial Appeal (Phonathon and Business Appeal) and other fundraising activities such as the annual Scholarship Dance, Trivia Team Challenge, and Golf Tournament.

How do I donate online? NEW!

CSF of Wakefield uses the services of PayPal to process online donations. Please visit our PayPal Donations Page and click the appropriate donate button. You will be linked directly CSF’s PayPal site for secure credit card processing.

If you already have a PayPal account you can donate with a credit card or directly from your bank account.

If you do not have a PayPal account, you can use your credit card without opening a PayPal account; OR you can follow the instructions to set up a free account to use your credit card or bank account.

How do I make out a check?

Checks may be made payable to CSF of Wakefield and mailed to P.O. Box 321, Wakefield MA 01880. If a donation is meant for a permanent or an accumulating fund, indicate the name of the fund in the memo portion of the check, or enclose a note.  We will send you an acknowledgement of your donation.  If you want us to acknowledge your donation to another person, please include the name, address and occasion and we will be happy to do so.

Is a donation to CSF tax deductible?

Yes, Citizens' Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation as designed by the IRS.  Our tax ID number is 042444195.

I would like to establish a permanent fund in memory of a loved one. How do I go about it?

A fund becomes permanent when a minimum of $5,000 has been deposited. This will enable the fund to generate enough income to provide our minimum award.

Permission can be obtained to start a fund with lesser amounts provided the fund will eventually qualify as a permanent fund. These are called accumulating funds.
